This website was set up by me, Marc Loewenthal, a qualified and experienced English language teacher, translator, multimedia creator and materials writer, to showcase my publications.

I have been teaching English in a variety of countries and situations since 1981. I have taught in Britain, Greece, Russia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. I have a degree in Russian and Linguistics, an MA in Education (TESOL) and and MSc in Multimedia Applications Development. I also have three teaching qualifications, and I have fully qualified teacher status in Britain. I have a wealth of experience of working with electronic media and I am a qualified e-learning specialist. I also have a Diploma in Translation from Russian into English.

I have a wealth of experience in writing materials for use in the classroom and in self-study. I studied Latin and Greek to Advanced level, and I am currently engaged in research on all the modern English derivations from Latin roots. The Latin Heart of English: English language practice of words of Latin origin - Volume 1, designed especially for English language students, is the first book in this series with another planned. The series will also include a set of three reference books entitled The Latin Heart of English: Of Fame, Fables and Footsldiers.

The Liondale English Language Series: Volume 1 is the first in a series of six books. Volume 1 has exercises in each of the five areas of practice dealt with in this book designed to help intermediate students consolidate and broaden their grammar and vocabulary base in English. There are many free exercises of the types in the book on my website Eflworksheets.com.

The other book currently available is The Liondale Dictionary of Pronounced Meanings, which is composed of alternative definitions to a variety of words in a rather tongue-in-cheek way. You will need to have a look to understand how it works. I have other books on similar themes in the pipeline.
